INTERVAL.....but with a difference!

Statistically speaking, it feels right to call this stage of life as an "INTERVAL" ! Though, looking at the BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-Linear, Incomprehensible) world, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that this could well be 'CLIMAX/ANTI CLIMAX' (either one depending on how I navigate)!

The term 'Interval', that we have traditionally known through watching movies in theatres, started as a necessity to change movie-reels, especially for the long-ish Bollywood movies. However, slowly they became strategic (and opportunistic) and are typically characterized by:

1) A 15 min break [roughly 10% of total showtime] mid-way through the show-time that could either be abrupt or well-planned

2) A period where viewers tend to stretch their legs, use the restroom, debrief about the movie, start to form opinions about the movie, predict the ending of the movie, grab some F&B for the 2nd half or in worst-case, exit the cinema hall! In short, freedom to do anything that they please!

3) Whatever be the scenario, in all cases, 2nd half picks up from the point where the interval was announced, thereby ensuring continuity!

So, how am I looking at my life's interval and is it inspired by a movie-interval ?!

The more I see it play out and introspect, the more it's getting clearer that my 1st half and 2nd half may well be completely disjointed! Yes, the task of going back to the drawing board after the 1st half seems daunting but yet it feels more like an end of 1 movie, however abrupt ......and a perfect launching pad for starting another movie, bringing the best parts from 1st half! KNPH anyone?! :)

Does that mean that the 1st half was wasted?! Well, that's like saying that going to school or college was useless considering I didn't use Newton's laws or litmus test experiments in my adult life! Lest we forget, first half was not just about working or 'the corporate life' , half of that tenure involved studying (10+2+Bachelors+Masters); and it's a concoction of all of this that served me till now! Infact a lot of corporate jargon and project documentation during my 1st half involved these 'so-called-bookish' terms- inertia, acceleration, force, litmus test.... :)

.However, I take this interval as an opportunity to unravel and demystify certain aspects which I always thought about but never took the next step. That means bringing URL into the fore!

U- Unlearning things that may not fit in 2nd half

R- Replicating best practices from 1st half

L- Learning and .....possibly lots of it that will supplement my previous stint

Some movies are linear and mine was until my body in motion was acted upon by an 'external force' bringing it to rest, albeit temporarily- and yes, rest is important , an interval is important , especially if you need to pivot and by nature are not the nimblest of species....

So, all you readers and dear ones - don't leave the cinema hall for it's just an INTERVAL, the 2nd half promises to be more action packed for sure!

PS: Don't be put off by the bloody image below- I just found the word play of Baazigar and Berozgaar too relevant and funny to not use it here :)

The journey begins.....
The journey begins.....

With your "skills" in abbreviating random things to make a point, a career in the supreme leaders coterie might be a good option
