Finding your "Yubi Key" !

People working in amazon would be able to relate to this incomprehensible set of letters. However, for the un-initiated, this gibberish random code gets generated by a press of a 1 inch tiny USB device called "yubi key" (3 sec demo video below). This then acts as a password, giving access to restricted company resources and tools. An open and an idle mind looks for signals or lessons in everything and here I was, staring at this 1 inch yubi-key wondering what parallels can I see and apply in my day to day life.
1) Innocuous looking things & actions can be powerful if used correctly: Yubi key is useless in 2 situations: (i) in non-amazon systems and (ii) if NOT pressed even if its an amazon system. However when used at the right place and right time with right action, it gives entry to hitherto restricted domains and resources.
2)Speak the language that your audience understands: The gibberish code generated by press of yubi-key is greek and latin for us earthlings but is music to the ears of the system it works for.
3) Input > Output : A yubi key is redundant if not pressed for a specific time-period. Once pressed, it unblocks the next action- and that's what matters!
4) Embrace randomness: We have always heard that "if you provide the same input, don't expect the output to change". However, that's the beauty of randomness where output differs inspite of same input ! As long as it gets the work done, why not?!- just like the random code that's generated each time one presses the Yubi key!
So, unless you are one of those lucky ones, let's find that Yubi-key- either within us or an external someone. Someone who understands us- so much so that they know when and where we can add value and then just push enough for us to generate the magic "unique code" , opening up a hitherto unseen world of "efecdcfrtlcnhkkllhbuifunejkkmmget" !
